I'm sure you've listened to X at least once in the middle of the night. And I'm pretty sure you've thought: how nice it would be to hear something different now, something that fits the quietest hours of the day. It won't push you out of your chair, it won't rattle your eardrums, but rather it will relax you, calm you down and help you through your night shift or even your way home from a party. With this in mind, we've created our latest themed music track from 1am to 6am, every weekday.
KáDé and I have been thinking for a long time about what to do with the night. The night band is a no-man's land because it is a very layer-period with layer demands. Since I (Norbert Szabó / Sznoka) have become part of this stratum in a certain sense, since I regularly work usually from 3.30 am onwards, the subject has become a matter of my heart.
One time when I was listening to X at dawn on the way to work, I really didn't like listening to music that was on the daytime rotation. It's not that they're not good music, it's just that when you're playing night owls, you need something different. Something that still vibe with the "I just woke up and don't know about my world" feeling of life. It was then that I realised that I wanted to carry out our old plan as soon as possible, reform the night show, rebuild it from the ground up. This is how JustRelaX was born. Apropo, this profound game with the letters and the title of the show is the brainchild of KáDé, so I send him a huge high five, he spared me the most unpleasant part of the work - the title. Although it wasn't his first, he also came up with the name Radio X, but you didn't hear that from me. 🤫🤫
Then came that certain flow feeling, when something comes into my head and I want to do it SOS. I started collecting music, soon after, with the help of KáDé, we had 300+ tracks, which is a visible amount to fill a 5 hour show with music.
The style of the music varies, but the mood is the same. Jazz, soul, melodic house and other delicacies in unlimited quantities.
This music programme is completely different from our general image. There are no effects, no editing of the music (it was only leveled to make it all play at the same volume). There are no promos, no clock signals, specifically a land of calm. There is only one very nice female voice when you switch to us in this time slot, and only one per three tracks, in a very soothing tone. All the music goes down completely, there are no cuts. It's like a special music playlist, tailored to your mood at night.
It's been a lot of work, it's done, now you just have to listen and ultimately love it.
